November Wellness: Awareness, Reflection & Men’s Health
by Sugarman Occupational Health
on 1st November 2025
November is a month of reflection, resilience, and raising awareness. As the year begins to wind down, it’s an important time to check in – with ourselves, with each other and our communities. From spotlighting men’s health to managing stress and honouring service and sacrifice, November reminds us that wellbeing is not just personal – it’s collective.
Movember – A Month for Men’s Health
Movember is more than just moustaches – it’s a global movement focused on men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. It’s a chance to encourage open conversations, early intervention, and regular health checks. Whether you’re growing a ‘Mo’, moving for Movember, or hosting a fundraiser, every action helps change the face of men’s health.
Let’s challenge outdated stigmas and create safe spaces where men feel supported, seen, and heard.
National Stress Awareness Day
Along with the buzz of Bonfire Night, National Stress Awareness Day on the 5th is a timely reminder that stress can impact every area of our health. Work pressures, family responsibilities, and financial concerns can all build up.
This day is about recognising stress early and taking practical steps to manage it – whether that’s a mindful moment, a break outdoors, or simply talking things through. Encourage your teams to pause, reflect, and recharge. Small changes can make a big difference.
Remembrance Sunday – 9th November
On Remembrance Sunday, we honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served – and continue to serve – across the armed forces. It’s a day to reflect, show gratitude, and remember the lasting impact of their service.
World Diabetes Day
With over 4 million people in the UK living with diabetes, awareness and prevention have never been more important. World Diabetes Day on the 14th highlights the signs, risks, and long-term impact of diabetes, encouraging early diagnosis and healthy lifestyle choices.
This year, start the conversation around nutrition, regular activity, and routine health checks. Share practical resources or invite a clinical expert for a lunchtime session, awareness today can prevent complications tomorrow.
