The Occupational Health division came into existence 25 years ago, in 1998, when a prominent car manufacturing client outsourced its OH nursing staff to Premiere People. The contract encompassed multiple locations across the UK and involved over 70 agency nursing staff. As the recruitment business expanded to serve other clients, Premiere People Occupational Health Recruitment developed into one of the top 10 OH recruitment agencies in the UK, holding a strong position within an unsaturated and niche marketplace.
In 2007, Cordant acquired Premiere People, coinciding with Occupational Health naturally transforming into a Service Provider Business. As part of this evolution, the company rebranded as Sugarman Health and Wellbeing, forging partnerships with over 500 employers across the UK spanning all sectors.
In February 2020, Cordant Group and all its subsidiary companies, including Sugarman, were acquired in a transformative deal by Twenty20 Capital.
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing currently operates as a subsidiary of our parent group, HCRG. Established in 2000, the HCRG group has risen to become a market leader in the temporary and permanent supply of nursing, social care, and teaching staff across the UK, catering to both the Public and Private Sectors.
