Celebrating Our SEQOHS Accreditation: A Commitment to Excellence in Occupational Health Services

by Sugarman Occupational Health on 16th January 2025

We are absolutely delighted to share exciting news: we have successfully achieved our SEQOHS accreditation!

SEQOHS, which stands for Safe, Effective, Quality Occupational Health Service, represents a prestigious industry benchmark that certifies the quality and reliability of occupational health services. This accreditation is fundamental to both the public and private sectors, as it signifies a commitment to excellence that has been recognised since the standard was established in 2010.

Obtaining and upholding this esteemed accreditation requires unwavering dedication, a focus on continuous improvement, and a strong commitment to delivering the highest quality of care in occupational health services. It reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence and our ongoing efforts to enhance the wellbeing and safety of our clients in the workplace.

We take immense pride in this significant accomplishment, which is the result of a collaborative team effort. As we move forward, let us remain vigilant in upholding these high standards, ensuring that our customers remain at the forefront of everything we do.

About SEQOHS

Launched in 2010, SEQOHS sets the standards for occupational health services to deliver a Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service and receive accreditation.

Today, the SEQOHS accreditation scheme is an integral part of the occupational health service landscape and the recognised industry standard.

The SEQOHS standards were inspired by Dame Carol Black’s review of the health of Britain’s working-age population, ‘Working for a healthier tomorrow‘ (published in March 2008). The review advocated clear standards of practice and formal accreditation of all providers who support people of working age.

The Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) led the development of the standards and accreditation process. We oversee the standards and have revised them every few years to incorporate legislative changes, latest ethical considerations and best-practice. The latest review saw updated standards take effect in November 2023.
